Vecinos Unidos hosts a summer program for current students. This is an awesome opportunity for students to get a head start on learning for the upcoming school year, and spend time with special programming and field trips to local businesses in the community.
At the program, volunteers age 16+ work with elementary students on basic reading, writing, and math. Volunteers choose one evening (Mon – Fri) to volunteer with students for 90 minutes. No prior tutoring experience is required. Your role will be to work with students individually or in a small group to help them complete worksheets, practice writing, and read with fluency.
If you enjoy the summer program, we would love to welcome you back as a year-round volunteer for our homework program.
