VU added milk to the menu last week along with the snacks we have been serving each day. It disappeared so quickly! The kids also love the turkey and cheese sandwiches we make a couple of times a week and serve along with fresh fruit. Other days feature yogurt, fresh fruit, raising, or a grain of some kind. It only takes a few minutes to get a snack before settling in to do homework, but being nourished and hydrated seems to make it easier to concentrate and learn–and who doesn’t’ remember how good that after-school snack tasted?
