Summer Camp Ahead

  • June 11, 2015June 11, 2015

Although school is not quite over, VU closed a little early because students are busy with SOLs and wrapping up the school year. Volunteers and board members are taking a small respite and then we will turn our energies to plan our exciting summer program!

Old-fashioned board games were a hit at summer camp.

What’s that feel like?

We are trying something new this year with 8 days of all-day camp for our students in August. This will provide our students with a wealth of different activities, including fieldtrips; educational games; guest speakers; cooking; and of course, reading and math activities. It will take a lot of planning to fill 56 hours of programming and create 8 lunches and 16 snacks, but we are definitely up for it!

We will be thrilled to see our students–and judging from the reactions of a few of them during the last week, they will be happy to see us too.

We can’t wait! Won’t you volunteer to join us and share in the fun?
