Celebrating the last day of VU summer program with pizza and bowling.
All good things must end, but following tradition, the VU summer program goes out on a fun note at the bowling alley. Eight students and eight volunteers hit the lanes for some active fun and then enjoyed a pizza snack. It was great to see the spirit of cooperation continue in a different venue–the kids were incredibly supportive of one another, imbuing the entire event with a great vibe. Special kudos go to the high school volunteers who patiently helped the kids bowl. Those kindnesses from older students will create lasting memories for all involved.
Once again, anticipating the start of school, VU provided bags of school supplies with the commemorative summer program T-shirts, and the kids and parents were most appreciative.
Summer just flew by, and now we look forward to starting the homework program on September 16.
