Tadpoles and Dragonflies

  • July 29, 2013

VU welcomed a special guest and first time visitor, Lisa Matthews to our summer program.

Lisa brought in water samples from different area ponds.  Our students saw tadpoles, dragonflies and other types of insects.  Some students were brave enough to put their hands in the water to feel the insects.  She also had a microscope available so they could take a closer look at the insects.  A story about dragonflies followed and the students were able to make their own versions as a craft project.

It was a very interesting session, the students really enjoyed it and we hope to have Lisa back with us again soon!
