Many folks determine to make changes in a new year; some succeed, some don’t. VU made a big change and did so with gusto. The two nights that homework has been open in the new year in the new space brought 16 and 19 students and 11 and 12 volunteers respectively. It appears that the students and their parents are absolutely comfortable with the location. It’s so wonderful that the move was seamless for the students. They see the same faces, find the same pencils and other resources, eat healthy snacks, choose from familiar titles for reading, and play their favorite games if time allows.
Kudos to the board members and volunteers who worked so hard over the holidays to ensure that everything got moved, had a home, and was ready to go. If you’d like to help us continue to serve students, contact VU. There’s always room for you.
