Fairfax County Schools have been closed for a few days in the last two weeks for holidays and teacher workdays, but VU board members and volunteers have been busy behind the scenes. Some folks explored new books, the board members held their monthly meeting, and the board president made the word eggs shown in the picture. It’s a simple learning aid, but in the hands of capable volunteers, they will help students learn consonants and add words to their vocabularies.
It’s been a month now since we moved to our new space at the NRC in Herndon, and we are settling in. Kudos to the volunteers and students who honestly didn’t miss a beat and just keep on working.
