When it gets dark so early in late fall, I just want to stay inside after work. Fortunately, VU students are not afraid of the dark or deterred by it one bit. Nor are the dedicated volunteers. Monday night we had 16 students and 10 volunteers and on Tuesday we had 21 students and 10 volunteers. Plus, two new students joined us this week and reportedly settled in really fast. That’s a credit to the board members in charge and the volunteers who make all the students feel welcome and secure.
Report cards are still coming in and hats are proudly being worn out. Just in time for our chilly weather. Gathering the report cards gives us insight into what students are doing well and what they need help with. It’s nice to be able to focus our efforts more specifically. We’ll help those who did well to continue, and we’ll work extra hard with those who need to improve.
If you are looking for something to do to keep busy now that most outdoor activities are curtailed, please contact VU and volunteer with us. You’ll be hooked.
