Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. The extended daylight means that students can come to VU to do their homework and still have time to go outside and play afterward–and that’s perfect. Seems that students and their parents think so too, because we have been busy!
Of course that may also have to do with the close of the grading period, which ends this Friday on March 30. All of the board members and volunteers are anxious to see the data from the students’ report cards and celebrate their achievements, because we know they are all going to make progress in some areas!
The next week is spring break, so VU will not be in session from Monday, April 2 through Thursday, April 5th or on Monday, April 9th.
Plus, all of us are also looking forward to the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, April 19th. Details will follow, but if you are already working with us in our efforts to support students’ learning, please save the date and I’ll see you there. It’s a great time to meet all your fellow volunteers and accept a sincere thank-you for all that you do for your community.
