On Groundhog Day, the furry critter saw his shadow and went back to bed for six more weeks, but it looks like students did no such thing because they are showing up at VU in strong numbers! Last night 17 students kept 9 volunteers busy as they did their homework and read–or got in some extra work with division flashcards as one young man decided to do.
VU has welcomed some new students in the past few weeks and they are getting into the routine along the regulars. With friendly and helpful volunteers; hundreds of books to choose from; educational resources, such as flashcards and manipulatives; and games to play when the work is done, why wouldn’t they want to come? It really is a great place to get support and learn–for students and adults.
