Rainy Days and Reading

There was thunder and lightning outside the Vecinos Unidos classrooms last week, but inside, it was dry and cozy.  After everyone finished their homework, they settled in with a favorite book.  It’s customary for students read to a volunteer  for 20 minutes each night, and all the adults were busy listening.  We were delighted that several students continued to read silently for much longer than they “had” to–and one young lady is going to need some more Junie B books pretty soon!
